Raid on Seguin Store Yields Synthetic Marijuana, Cash, and Gambling Machines
(Seguin, TX) -- The Seguin Gazette reports that the JG Food Mart, located across the street from Seguin High School, was raided by Seguin Police late last week. Last Thursday night officers from the Seguin Police Special Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the convenience store and discovered hundreds of bags of “Kush,” an illegal synthetic marijuana product. The raid was the result of a 6 month undercover investigation that netted over 22-hundred grams of the synthetic marijuana in 335 packages, plus an estimated 10-thousand-dollars in cash, surveillance and gambling equipment, and a gun. Three arrests were made including the store’s owner, 56-year old Jesus Pugal Guico Jr., and two employees, 31-year old Joshua Woosley and 50-year-old Geral Edward Spear. All three have been charged with delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 2 in a drug free zone (because of the proximity of Seguin High School). All three were booked into the Guadalupe County Jail, with the store owner under a 100-thousand dollar bond and the two employees under 50-thousand dollar bonds.
